Kalamaki - Heraklion Prefecture (Greece)
KALAMAKI: Kalamaki is a small village on south of the Greek island of Crete, with a beautiful, wide sandy beach. It is a quiet, friendly place with a lot of small hotels and apartments. Small souvenir shops, a bakery, a newsagent, a dozen restaurants, car and motorbike rentals; one can find all the necessary tourist things here. It is a very nice place for people who do not like big crowds. The seawater is clear and very clean. If you want to find a busier place in the neighbourhood, then Matala and Agia Galini are reachable within fifteen minutes by (rental) car.
