Kaliviani: Kaliviani on the Greek island of Crete is a village in the plain of Messara and lies on the route between Mires and Timbaki. The small village is known for the convent and orphanage located there. It's a monastery where women stay and it is dedicated to the Blessed Mother Panagia Kaliviani. The old church was built during the 2nd Byzantine period. It is highly recommended to visit this village on 14th and 15th August. There is music and a market and people from all over the area come here to stay the night of 14th and 15th August because a special midnight mass is held.
