Anissaras - Heraklion Prefecture (Greece)
ANISSARAS. Anissaras is a very quiet town on the Greek island of Crete, It lies between Analipsis and Hersonissos. Anissaras is located 3 kilometres from Hersonissos and 20 kilometres from Heraklion Airport. For crowds you have to drive down to Hersonissos or Agios Nikolaos. Anissaras is a quiet base for excursions. No mass tourism, but everything you need is available. There are some mini markets and there is even an ATM. There are opportunities for renting a scooter and a car, so you can explore the area. Anissaras is actually a whole new holiday village, a few years ago it did not even exist. The town has a beautiful wide sandy beach. Here are many new hotels and some apartments. In Anissaras are a few bars and there are also some restaurants in the area. The beaches are good, a little further into the sea are many rocks and coral so that is a plus for those who love snorkelling. There are beach beds and water sports available.
