Prinos. Prinos on the Greek island of Crete belongs to the municipality of Arkadi and is situated 15 kilometres from Rethymnon City. Prinos is a small village with about 200 inhabitants. There are some Byzantine churches and a memorial museum of the Second World War. However, the most attractive aspect of this area is the 12 km long sandy beach that stretches from the rocks of Skaleta to the Venetian port of Rethymnon. This beach is one of the most important refuges of the careta-careta turtle. 500 meters from Prinos is Scaleta, where you can swim and you will find here a mini market, tavernas and several shops.
