Theologos - Rhodes (Greece)
Theologos (Tholos). On the route from Rhodes town to Kamiros and approximately 25 kilometers (15 mi) from Rhodes town is the location of the village of Theologos, also called Tholos. Theologos belongs to the municipality of Petaloudes (Butterfly Valley) and it is the most developed tourist village of the municipality. Several large hotels have settled here such as Doreta Beach. The first thing you will notice on the beach of Theologos are the many windsurfers. A local resident told us that it’s almost always windy here, and therefore this place is very popular among windsurfers.
Theologos has a long sand and pebble beach. There are many restaurants on the main road and on the beach. Theologos also has an old town center. It is located approximately one kilometer from the beach and the people here seem to cling to the old traditions and customs. The houses have the characteristic Rodian style and the inhabitants of the village are very friendly. Just outside the center of the village is the picturesque church of Aghios Spyridon.
