FALIRAKI. Faliraki is situated on the east coast of the island of Rhodes, about 12 kilometers (7 mi) from Rhodes town. There are numerous large hotel chains and resorts in Faliraki, partly due to the 5 kilometer (3 mi) long beach located here. The beach is mostly sandy and proudly flies the blue flags of the International Environmental Award for clean and safe beaches, an indication that the sea water is very clean and the beaches are well managed.
The town center is located at the very south of the bay and is a magnet for young people and for those who love the nightlife. Dozens of bars and nightclubs, as well as fast food chains are located here. You can go bungee jumping. There is a fairground and all water sports are available. Faliraki is not all modern. There are also traditional taverns and restaurants. Along the beach there are many restaurants, clubs and eateries. Falirake has a nice harbor with a typical Greek church. The waterpark of Rhodes is situated in Faliraki and also archaeological sites including the ancient Acropolis Sarantapichou (at Kalithies), the cave of Kalamonia and Anthony Quinn Bay.
