Avlakia - Samos (Greece)
Avlakia. Avlakia is a quiet resort on the north coast of the Greek island of Samos. It is located four kilometres northwest of the popular village of Kokkari.
Avlakia is situated in a beautiful area, because just behind the village are the beautiful green mountains of Ampelos. On the pebble beach are a number of tavernas and cafes, and there are many hotels and apartments where you can stay. Some terraces have tables and chairs next to the waters edge.
Within walking distance, heading west, lies the popular beach of Tsambou. From Avlakia it is accessible by foot within less than 15 minutes. You have to walk a bit uphill and at the other side back down. Other popular beaches are towards Kokkari; the beaches of Lemonakia and Tsamadou.
From Avlakia you can take lovely walks, both along the coast and in the mountains. Not far from Avlakia are popular mountain villages Vourliotes and Manolates.
