Stavros. Stavros is located on the Greek island of Ithaca, about 17 kilometers north of the capital, Vathy. It is a beautiful large village in the island’s north side. From the port of Pisaetos, where the ferry arrives, it is about 13 kilometers located.
On the square of the village stands the statue (bust) of Odysseus (Ulysses). Here is also the church of "Sotiras" (Jesus, the Savior). In this church are beautiful byzantine murals. In this square, surrounded by white painted big trees, there are some cozy taverns and restaurants. From the terrace of one of these restaurants there is a beautiful view of the surroundings and the sea and there is also a playground for children.
Very interesting is the Archaeological Collection at the museum of Stavros that includes finds from the Loizos cave near the beach of Polis which is not far from Stavros situated.
