Perdika - Aegina (Greece)
Perdika. Perdika is a small fishing village on the Greek island of Aegina, ten kilometres south of Aegina Town. It lies partly on a hill and from the upper part of the village you have a beautiful view over the whole region and over the island Moni, that is located exactly opposite.
In the harbour of Perdika you will see many fishing boats as well as yachts, sailboats and other tourist boats. Here are many cafeterias, bars, ouzeries, souvenir shops, restaurants and especially fish tavernas. Striking in this old fishing village are the small houses with their tiny courtyards that are interconnected. In the village there are many narrow alleys and stairs. On the promenade with palm trees there are benches everywhere with views to the sea.
Perdika is located partially on a small peninsula. At the end of the peninsula stands the church of Agios Sostis, which was destroyed by the Germans in 1943. Every year on September 7th traditional folk festivals are held here.
