Koufonissi. Koufonissi is a small village (the only village!) on the island of Pano Koufounissi. It is a friendly village, with whitewashed houses and narrow streets – a genuine Cycladic village. Here you will find some small shops. The streets are clean and well cared for by the residents and many flowers adorn the village. If you arrive by boat in the harbor, the beautiful turquoise color of the sea and the fantastic sandy beach are striking. On the beach there are a few wooden benches and some nice taverns where you can eat a tasty meal.
Koufonissi is a place to relax. It's very small, but when you consider that you can swim, sunbathe, eat delicious food and drinks, walk and cycle or take a boat trip, you’ll agree these are the perfect ingredients for a fine, laid-back vacation. There are plenty of bicycles for rent on the island. At the shop of Giorgoula, we purchased a nice CD with music from Koufonissi. The people in the restaurants are very friendly and the food was enjoyable. A fun stroll through the streets give you the feeling you are really in Greece!
