Chora Samothrace (Samothraki). Chora is the capital of the island of Samothrace, which is located 6 kilometers from the port of Kamariotisssa. Actually Chora is a traditional village situated on the slopes of Mount Saos, 300 meters above sea level. It is a picturesque village built in the 15th century. The houses have ceramic tiles and the streets, alleys and squares are paved with stones. Here in Chora are many shops where local products are sold, souvenir shops, taverns and typical Greek cafés. Very famous is the traditional baker who bakes bread in wood coals. At the highest point in the village is the medieval castle. Worth seeing in Chora are the Ethnographic Museum, the Municipal Library and the Church of the Ascension.
