Kolymbia - Rhodes (Greece)
Kolymbia. Kolymbia on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, at a distance of approximately 21 kilometers (13 mi) from Rhodes town and seven kilometers (4 mi) from Faliraki, near Afandou. Kolymbia was founded by Italians and looks more like an Italian village than a Greek village. Kolymbia is located in a bay north of a high mountain.
The beach of Kolymbia is splendid and well cared for. It actually consists of two adjacent bays. The harbor and the fish taverns next to the water guarantee it is a popular holiday resort.
The road from the beautiful resort of Kolymbia to the inland wanders through the woods, along the river Loutani to Archipoli, a picturesque farming village. The route is perfect for a walk or a bike ride. Just before you reach the village you’ll find a pine forest and the Aghios Nektarios Monastery where one can rest a while and quench his thirst with cool spring water. Nice trips from Kolymbia include: Rhodes town, Lindos, Butterfly Valley, Kamiros and Kalithea.
