Emporio - Santorini (Greece)
Emporio. Emporio is a traditional village on the Greek island of Santorini. It is located 11 kilometers (7 mi) south of the capital of Santorini, Fira. In the center is the district referred to as Mesana. It is a kind of fortress where the outermost houses shield the center. The outer walls produce a defined area that looks like a castle.
The village is very nice and a walk through the narrow streets can be very pleasant. In the village are some very beautiful churches with fine bell towers. There are also some very nice cafes and restaurants.
Emporio is not only a tourist village but also an agricultural village. The area around the village is very fertile, and many garden vegetables are grown here.
